This communication reveals a novel model analyzing viscosity and magnetic fields in transversely isotropic solids, highlighting its experimental utility.
In this communication, we propose a novel nonlinear rate-dependent transversely isotropic magneto-viscoelastic constitutive model for solids via a generalized strain formulation that was recently developed. The generalized strain constitutive model uses spectral invariants, which help to reduce modeling complexity; they also have a clear physical interpretation, which are attractive for use in experiments. The effects of viscosity and magnetic fields are analyzed via boundary value problems.
