This investigation shows polymer materials' suitability for 3D-printing gauge pointers, indicating high accuracy and robustness.
The investigation of the properties of polymer materials and recommendations for their use for 3D-printing of the pointer of the limit values of the pressure gauge, using FDM technology (Fused Deposition Modeling), is discussed. High requirements for the materials for the manufacture of this part are set up: resistance to corrosion in active media and temperature changes, resistance to dynamic loads. The properties of plastics ABS and PETG were studied. The investigation showed that, when choosing the right polymer, additive production could be successfully used for the manufacture of complex finite elements, which led to extremely fast production, high accuracy and even lower costs as compared to other traditional technologies.
