Research highlights geomonitoring techniques for managing geomechanical processes and enhancing mining safety.
The results of long-term research of employees of the Kazakh National Research Technical University (KazNITU) on the study of geomechanical and geodynamic processes are presented. It is shown that the problem of controlling geomechanical processes can be solved on the basis of a comprehensive system of geomonitoring the state of the rock mass, which provides for a comprehensive accounting and analysis of all natural and man-made factors, as well as the use of control tools developed by the authors. As a result of the conducted research, they were created and put into production: a geodynamic polygon (GDP) has been created on the territory of the Zhilandinsky groups of deposits; designs of permanent (ground and underground) points of forced centering, allowing to increase the productivity and accuracy of observations; a method for predicting the physical and mechanical properties (FMS) of rocks of the massif; seismoacoustic method of forecasting the VAT of the array; composition of a strengthening solution from mining waste to increase the stability of the sides of the quarry and disturbed areas of underground workings. The created GDP is a reliable basis for the organization of long-term monitoring of deformation processes during large-scale development of the Zhilandinsky groups of deposits, allowing to increase the productivity and accuracy of observations. The results obtained can be used to increase the level of production safety at mines and minimize environmental risks caused by the development of mineral resources.
