Analysis demonstrates increased hardening effectiveness in steels, suggesting improved machining processes for steel parts.
A method of hardening heavily loaded machine parts by volumetric-surface hardening (VSH method), using carbon steels of low or regulated hardenability (ПП / LH and РП / RH steels) is considered. The properties of steels, their microstructure and hardenability are described. Various technological processes for the production of steel parts are discussed. Simplifying the technological process of pre-heat treatment without decreasing quality due to the use of heat from previous hot pressure treatment operations, which in some cases makes it possible to completely eliminate pre-heat treatment, is described. The possibility of using the preliminary and, in some cases, final heat treatment to completely eliminate flake formation is indicated.
