Additive manufacturing reduces waste and utilizes wood-based materials, suggesting a sustainable alternative to traditional woodworking.
Deforestation is a major issue nowadays, and it is becoming more important to rethink how we use wood. A study published in the journal Nature says that humans have already lost around 54% of the total number of trees on Earth. One possible solution is additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing. This method only uses the amount of material that is needed and can even work with recycled materials. That means we could print objects from wood-based filaments and, if they are no longer useful, turn them back into raw material to start the process again. It is a much more sustainable approach compared to traditional woodworking.
