A novel stencil eases performance assessment in EIT systems, suggesting enhanced consistency in imaging results.
Accurate Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) imaging requires reliable system performance assessment. We present a simple, manually operated stencil insert for repeatable object positioning in EIT tanks, eliminating the need for complex automation. CNC-machined from plastic, the insert fits a 250 mm tank and features radial slots allowing 5.625° rotational steps, supporting 8–32 electrode configurations. Validation with a 32-electrode Swisstom Pioneer system and saline-filled tank demonstrated effective and reproducible object placement. Image reconstruction using EIDORS confirmed the system’s utility for performance evaluation. This tool enhances experimental consistency and complements existing EIT characterisation protocols. This poster was presented at the 25th International Conference on Biomedical Applications of Electrical Impedance Tomography (ICEBI-EIT-CNIBi EIT2025), held from 25th to 27th June 2025 in Monterrey, Mexico.
