Discussion

Analysis reclassifies chronological framework of medieval pottery in Mureș County, indicating different settlement patterns.

Chronological classification of pottery from Albești-La Cetățea suggests earlier habitation periods, not in the 9-10th centuries.
Evidence indicates ornamental features on the pottery align with earlier, pre-1000 contexts from the Avar era.
Observational analysis into decorative elements leads to a proposed single phase of habitation before 1000 AD.
Findings highlight the need for revised dating in Romanian archaeological literature regarding medieval pottery.

Dan Băcueț-Crișan (2025) studied this question.
