Finite element model simulates sealing behavior in LNG valves, suggesting optimizations for pressure effects and service life.
To address seal failure in LNG valves under cryogenic and high-pressure conditions, this study established a finite element model to analyze the sealing behavior of PTFE packing rings. A dynamic fluid pressure penetration algorithm based on ANSYS APDL was developed to simulate pressure gradient effects on the sealing interface. The influence of preload displacement and fluid pressure on von-Mises stress, shear stress, and contact pressure evolution was systematically investigated, providing a theoretical basis for optimizing LNG valve sealing structure and service life.
