Research reveals synchronization control improves accuracy in CNC milling machines, suggesting bias torque effectively reduces backlash errors.
In this paper, the synchronization control and gap elimination technology of the rotary table axis dual-motor drive system is studied for the high-precision machining needs of high-end CNC milling machines. First, a dual motor gap elimination method based on master-slave synchronization control is proposed. A speed compensation mechanism is designed to improve the synchronization and anti-interference performance of the dual-motor drive, and a bias torque is introduced so that the large gear is always under tension, effectively reducing the error caused by the gear-driven side backlash. On this basis, a simulation model is established. The simulation results show that the tracking error caused by the backlash can be significantly reduced by adding the bias torque, and the motion is smooth and responsive.
