This research demonstrates improved tracking performance and contour error reduction in dual axis CNC machine tools through cross coupling adjustments.
Abstract This article explores the challenges of operating high-precision CNC machine tools for dual axis machining, including coordinate axis parameter compensation mismatch, mechanical system delay, differences in contour error coordination gain control loops, and high contour error accuracy. The use of self-adjusting cross coupling method for CNC machine parameters and adjusting p method for cross coupling variable gain control can significantly improve CNC machining performance. This article proposes a dual axis linkage CNC machine tool self-adjusting gain coefficient p cross coupling contour compensation method for contour pre compensation, in order to improve robustness and anti-interference ability, and reduce contour errors. The core of this method is to apply it to adjust the p of cross coupling variable gain control, design a variable gain cross coupling increment C, suppress multi axis cross coupling contour control, ensure system adaptability, and improve contour tracking accuracy. Simulations and experiments were conducted on a two axis machine tool to verify its effectiveness. The results show that compared with other control schemes, this method has strong tracking performance, eliminates the mismatch of parameter compensation between coordinate axes that are linked by two or more axes, and more effectively reduces contour errors.
