Research uncovers optimal drying parameters to balance energy consumption, productivity, and cell performance in lithium-ion batteries, indicating potential efficiency gains.
The great energy consumption of cell manufacturing calls for urgent attention. Ideally, simultaneous achievement of high cell performance, low energy consumption, and high productivity are pursued. Current researches mainly focus on improving a single aspect, lacking research on multi-objective optimization. Our work focuses on the drying process of the LiFePO 4 anode of Li-ion Battery (LIB). We first put forward the models of electrode quality, energy consumption, and productivity. Then the models were optimized by the NSGA algorithm. Finally, the Pareto front was put forward, indicating the release of an optimized dataset. Results showed that higher drying temperatures tend to achieve better comprehensive economic benefits.
