Case report describes acute myocarditis following anaphylactic shock to rocuronium, suggesting urgent recognition is vital.
Abstract Intraoperative anaphylactic shock is a life-threatening emergency. Although cardiovascular failure is a frequent consequence, acute myocarditis is rare. We report the case of a patient who presented with anaphylactic shock to rocuronium, complicated by acute myocarditis confirmed by cardiac MRI. Rapid recognition and multidisciplinary management led to a favourable outcome.
