Comparative analysis of three pipeline network models in a ballast water system, suggesting optimization strategies.
Based on a large ship's ballast water system, this study established three typical pipeline network models: an annular pipeline network, a partitioned pipeline network, and a main pipeline network. Hydrodynamic simulations were completed under working conditions such as water injection into the ballast water tanks and drainage from the system cabins. By comparing the flow parameters of the annular pipeline network, partitioned pipeline network, and main pipeline network schemes through the simulation calculation results, the reliability of the pipeline network was analysed and verified. At the same time, after a comprehensive evaluation of the multipipeline network schemes, an optimization scheme for the ballast water system pipeline network was proposed.
