Novel approach produces high-quality quantum dots with emission ranging from 470 to 630 nm, implying versatile applications.
Abstract A novel one-pot approach has been developed for the synthesis of high-quality ZnxCd1−xSe alloy quantum dots, with a wide range of emission maxima from 470 to 630 nm. Quantum yields are generally greater than 30%. Furthermore, this method facilitates the straightforward preparation of these materials using CdO and ZnO, thus avoiding the necessity of employing pyrophoric starting materials, such as diethyl cadmium and diethyl zinc.
