Analysis shows challenges in sports services sector in Kazakhstan, suggesting clusters may boost competitiveness.
The analysis of the development of the sports services sector in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Karaganda region is carried out. Negative factors hindering the development of sports have been identified. As an economic mechanism that should eliminate the negative factors of the development of sports and increase its competitiveness, the creation of a sports cluster is proposed. Clusters are characterized by the interaction of three main groups on a limited geographical territory: government agencies; private enterprises and organizations that are the direct executor of services; public institutions – financial sector organizations, infrastructure, scientific and educational institutions, i.e. all those organizations that ensure the operation of the cluster. The purpose of creating a sports cluster is the development of mass and youth sports, the creation of competitive sports of high achievements in the international arena.
