Compression and splitting tensile tests reveal fiber geometry significantly enhances tensile strength in high-performance concrete.
To investigate the impact of steel fiber properties on the mechanical behavior of C60 high-performance steel fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC), the compression and splitting tensile tests were conducted through systematic variation of fiber geometry, fiber diameter, and fiber dosage. The results show that fiber geometry exerts a pronounced effect, with hooked-end fibers demonstrating 59% higher tensile strength retention compared to other profiles; diameter variation induces the change in compressive strength but up to 43% improvement in tensile capacity; the dosage affects the compressive and splitting tensile strength differently, and has the most significant effect on each are not the same.
