Evaluation of chemical composition and quality of Syrah wine from Diamantina, highlighting winemaking potential in tropical climates.
This study evaluated the chemical composition and quality of a red wine made from Syrah grapes from the 2018 harvest. The winemaking process was conducted at the Campo Alegre winery in the municipality of Diamantina, southeastern Minas Gerais. The main physical and chemical parameters were evaluated, and the results obtained allowed us to identify the product's compliance with the identity and quality criteria established by current Brazilian legislation, in addition to similarity with data previously described in the literature for wines of the same variety. These findings reinforce the qualitative potential of the analyzed beverage and highlight the winemaking potential of the Diamantina region, especially for producing fine wines in tropical high-altitude conditions.
