With the constant evolution of substation (converter) station towards high capacity, high voltage level, and high-efficiency operation, in the process of construction and operation and maintenance of substation (converter) station, in order to improve operation efficiency and ensure personnel safety, based on finite element analysis and calculation, a crawler-type multifunction integrated boom transport vehicle is designed and developed. The integrated boom adopts a four-stage retractable design, and implements multi-port matching planning at the end, which can adapt three kinds of mechanical modules, such as lifting, manned, and gripper. The design of the whole vehicle is described in detail from three dimensions: mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic. Finally, the functional test and practical application of the developed integrated boom transport vehicle were carried out in a substation (converter) station. The results show that the crawler body chassis can be turned in place, the mechanical gripper module can grasp the equipment support with a diameter of 300 mm, a weight of 200-300 kg, and a length of 4.5 m, and the minimum length of the steel pipe is 3800 mm. The manned platform has a maximum load of 200 kg and a maximum height of 6 m for installation.
