Cross-sectional study examines quality of life and work quality for academic teachers, suggesting significant interrelation between factors.
Analyze which aspects related to work may interfere with the QOL and work (QWL) of academic teachers from different fields of knowledge and verify the correlation between QOL and QWL. Cross-sectional study, in which we’ve used a sociodemographic ques-tionnaire with questions related to work, WHOQOL-bref and TQWL-42 of 284 academic teachers from the different fields. QOL and QWL didn’t differ in between areas of knowledge and they were impacted by work-related factors as follows: better remu-neration, the statutory agreement, not to have to move from the home city to act as a professor, better lighting, comfortable temperature, less noises, material resources, fewer students in class, we’ve also observed that QOL and QWL are interrelated. So, QOL and QWL are influenced by organizational factors and related to teaching function and don’t differ among teachers of different areas of knowledge that were evaluated, moreover it was concluded that the work and professors’ lives are interdependent
