Lip balm preparations are used as lip moisturizers and protect the lips from negative environmental impacts such as hyperpigmentation caused by ultraviolet rays. Rambutan fruit peel extract (Nephelium lappaceum L.) has activity as a sunscreen. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and best concentration of beeswax and candelilla wax lip balm variations from rambutan fruit peel extract and to determine the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value in vitro. Lip balm preparations were made in 4 formulas using a combination of beeswax and candelilla wax bases, with concentrations of F1 (5:10%), F2 (6.25:8.75%), F3 (8.75:6.25%), F4 (10:5%). Lip balm was evaluated in the form of organoleptic tests, homogeneity tests, pH tests, spreadability tests, adhesion tests, viscosity tests, and SPF tests. The results showed that the combination of beeswax and candelilla wax bases affected pH, adhesion, spreadability, and viscosity. F1 with beeswax concentration (5%) and candelilla wax (10%) produced the best formula.
