This response highlights metaphysics as a creative tool for conceptual engineering, indicating a shift from traditional explication.
Prof. Stekeler-Weithofer’s paper considers metaphysics as a commentary on the most general concepts in a full language. Metaphysics is taken as a clarification of our pre-existing concepts, on what there already is; thus, it assumes the role of a logical geography. In my response, I want to shift the focus from the explicatory to the creative aspect of metaphysical conceptual activity invoking a widely discussed topic of conceptual engineering.
