Experimental research demonstrates features of spectral response in fiber optic sensors, suggesting new modeling techniques.
The work presents the results of theoretical and experimental research dedicated to the development of sensors based on a combination of fiber optic interferometric structures, namely fiber Bragg gratings and Fabry-Perot interferometers. The classification of the abovementioned interferometric structures is given, as well as the universal approach to modeling of their spectral response, which is based on the definition of the transmittance and reflectance of plane waves propagating through the layered structure. Based on the presented modeling approach, the features of the spectral response of combined fiber-optic structures are investigated, and the conditions of the asymmetric Fano-type resonance occurrence are established.
