The article examines cooperation between Russia and China in the development of the Northern Sea Route (NSR) and its importance for global trade routes, especially in light of recent security threats in the Red Sea. The purpose of the article is to identify areas of cooperation between Russia and China in the Arctic, to provide an analysis of the joint actions of the two countries to develop the infrastructure of the NSR, including the construction of icebreakers and the creation of new logistics routes. It is concluded that Arctic cooperation is important for regional economic development and increasing the sustainability of international trade, as well as the need for investment and compliance with international standards for the successful development of the Arctic space. The growing interest of Chinese companies in joint development of the NSR with Russia, which is considered as an alternative to the southern sea routes, has been identified. It is concluded that the use of the NSR significantly reduces the time of cargo transportation between Europe and East Asia and in a global environment.
