The article proposes a concept of tecnologia social management based on the combination of social management and tecnologia social approaches. Social management and tecnologia social are theoretical conceptual propositions that have emerged in Brazil, in the Global South context, committed to human emancipation in the fields of management and technology, respectively. The proposed tecnologia social management corresponds to the dialogical management process of fostering, learning, developing, operating, and disseminating technological solutions, oriented toward technological democratization and human emancipation. This conceptual proposal is based on an analytical framework to guide technological management in community and solidarity organizations to tackle socio-environmental challenges. The conceptual-analytical proposal was applied for initial validation in a case of implementation of the Cisterns Program in communities in the Amazon. Through the case examined, activities foreseen in the analytical framework of social technological management and the exercise of social management principles in them were identified.
