Analysis shows income growth for freelance journalists using neural networks, highlighting increased demand in media freelancing.
Artificial intelligence is actively being integrated into many areas of our lives, including the media. More and more journalists are using neural networks in their work, and some are even fully replacing certain daily tasks with them. However, these skills are more frequently adopted by freelance journalists, as increased efficiency boosts their personal income rather than benefiting the media outlets directly. Simple tasks like rewriting are the first to be handled by neural networks. Some journalists have also completely abandoned photo banks in favor of AI-generated illustrations. This study analyzes one of the most popular job sites, HeadHunter. The results demonstrate that the ability to work with neural networks is more sought after in media freelancing than in newsrooms, and the income of freelance journalists with these skills is increasing.
