Proposed pixel circuit adjusts threshold and improves event rate in dynamic vision sensors by sensing temperature and light intensity.
This paper analyzes the relationship between temperature, dark current, and threshold in dynamic vision sensor (DVS), and proposes a multifunctional pixel circuit to mitigate event loss caused by the attenuation factor = 1 + /. In addition to its basic event output function, the pixel is capable of sensing temperature and outputting absolute light intensity information, which are used to calculate and in , thereby enabling threshold adjustment for the correction of the event rate. The design is implemented in 0.11‐μm process with a single pixel size of 25 μm × 25 μm. The simulation results show that the proposed pixel temperature‐sensing mode achieves a maximum 3 error of 0.89°C in the temperature range of −15°C–85°C, and the absolute error is within ±0.3°C. The threshold correction mechanism shows effective performance over a wide temperature range. The postsimulation results demonstrate that the correction mechanism can reduce the error in the event rate by at least 79.68.
