Fire incidents pose severe threats to life, property, and mental well-being, with firefighters often facing extreme risks in hazardous environments like nuclear plants, refineries, and confined spaces. To address these challenges, this paper introduces Rob, an innovative compact firefighting robot designed to enhance safety and operational efficiency. Unlike conventional systems, Rob leverages its small form factor to navigate narrow, obstructed areas, enabling effective fire suppression in high-risk zones without endangering human responders. Equipped with an ultrasonic sensor for obstacle avoidance and an E88 drone camera for real-time fire detection, Rob autonomously locates fires and maintains an optimal suppression distance of 40 cm. The system also supports remote monitoring and control via a smartphone interface, allowing firefighters to operate it from a safe distance. By integrating automation, obstacle detection, and remote oversight, Rob significantly reduces risks to personnel while improving response precision in dangerous scenarios. This technology represents a critical advancement in firefighting robotics, merging mobility, safety, and real-time adaptability to protect both responders and victims.
