Simulation of stress-strain states in the PKL-70 plow using CAD tools suggests high durability under load.
In modern forestry engineering, the strength and reliability of the designed equipment are of great importance. The quality and durability of forest plows directly affect the efficiency of soil cultivation in preparation for reforestation. In this work, the stress-strain states of the metal structures of the PKL-70 forest plow were simulated using modern CAD systems. Modern CAD and CAE design methods allow us to successfully study the phenomena occurring with real objects based on the simulation of digital twins - 3D models. In the course of the study, a 3D model of the PKL-70 plow was obtained. For the simulation, the KOMPAS 3D and Altair Inspire software packages were used. The programs allow us to create a three-dimensional model of the structure and determine the acting stresses and deformations arising at different values ??of the acting loads. The traction forces of serial tractors MTZ-82, TT-4, T-170, which are widely used in forestry areas, were used as design loads. The estimated load applied to the metal structure of the plough was from 16.25 to 128.25 kN. The simulation results showed that the PKL-70 plough structure has high strength and stability under estimated loads. The stresses acting in the metal structure do not lead to significant deformations. There are certain reserves for increasing the equipment efficiency indicators and reducing metal consumption. The materials of the work can be used in calculating and modeling loads acting on forest plough structures based on 3D modeling, solid modeling methods and the use of CAD and CAE technologies.
