Personal reflections highlight the exceptional teaching style and impact of Ania, a memorable educator.
I knew Ania first as her student and later as her friend. She was an indomitable teacher — bursting forth insight, she was relentless, she was generous, she was positive and she was without doubt the most singular teacher I had — every class was an event not to be missed. She was a great performer and teaching brought out this quality in her. These classes had an immeasurable impact on me and many others. Perhaps I’m too romantic but I had expected a lot out of university, expected to be challenged and surprised and inspired on a daily basis. Ania was the exception I had hoped was the rule.
