This approach employs post-fault control and d-q transformation to enhance reliability in three-phase induction motors under fault conditions.
In recent years, three‐phase induction motors (IMs) have been attracting more and more consideration in high‐reliability industrial applications. Post‐fault control (PFC) techniques for different three‐phase IM types in the case of the single‐phase open‐circuit fault (1φOCF) have been broadly studied in recent literature. In most of these strategies, different asymmetrical transformation matrices (ATMs) were used to transform the asymmetrical form of the faulted IM (FIM) model to a symmetrical model. However, the PFC of three‐phase IMs using the conventional transformation matrix (CTM) has rarely been investigated to date. To fill the gap, this paper proposes a novel field‐oriented control (FOC) for three‐phase IMs under the 1φOCF. Compared with the standard FOC, the designed PFC method in this paper only uses variable current PI controllers, and it includes a different d‐q transformation. The validity of the suggested control strategy is proved by several experiments.
