Observational analysis uncovered the therapeutic effectiveness of L-carnitine in treating hepatosis in cats, suggesting improved recovery outcomes.
The article presents the results of studies on the comparative effectiveness of complex treatment regimens for hepatosis in cats. One of the most common diseases of the hepatobiliary system in cats is hepatosis. Hepatolipidosis of the liver in cats is a special syndrome characterized by an intense accumulation of triglycerides in liver cells, which leads to stagnation of bile and impaired liver function. Treatment of idiopathic hepatolipidosis of the liver should be intensive, otherwise the risk of death is high. Since this disease is usually accompanied by severe anorexia, first of all, the body's water-salt balance is restored, and diet enrichment with L-carnitine, antioxidant therapy with S-adenosyl-methionine, and adequate nutritional support for the body are also of great importance. The development of effective treatment regimens for hepatolipidosis in cats is one of the promising areas of veterinary science and practice. On the basis of the veterinary clinic "Votvet" (LLC "Project-5", Rostov-on-Don) conducted a study of the therapeutic and cost-effectiveness of the inclusion of PHYTODOK® Carnitine (NPC "Agrovetzashita", Russia) and Gepavetarium 100 mg (NPC "Agrovetzashita", Russia) in a comprehensive therapeutic regimen for the treatment of hepatolipidosis in cats. Based on the research results obtained, it was found that the scheme using PHYTODOK® Carnitine and Hepavetarium 100 mg preparations was therapeutically more effective than the scheme used at the enterprise, and allowed to reduce the recovery time of animals.
