Two new eriophyoid mite species and one new genus identified on host plants in Hainan, highlighting biodiversity.
One new genus and two new eriophyoid mite species of the tribe Phyllocoptini (Acari: Eriophyidae: Phyllocoptinae) collected from Hainan Island, China, are described and illustrated: Paracallyntrotus combretinus gen. nov. and sp. nov. on Combretum alfredi (Combretaceae) and Bischofius lineatus sp. nov. on Catunaregam spinosa (Rubiaceae). The genus Bischofius is recorded in China for the first time. Both new mite species were found as vagrants on their host plants, causing no apparent damage.
