Analysis measures longitudinal stresses using acoustoelasticity in R65 rails, indicating temperature influence.
The temperature dependence of the propagation time of longitudinal, transverse and transformed ultrasonic waves in three sections of R65 rails has been studied using a high-speed microprocessor system based on the acoustoelasticity method. The obtained time dependences and the results of estimating the errors in measuring time parameters made possible to calculate the longitudinal stresses in the rails on the active section of the railway track with an error no more than 10%.
