Observational analysis reveals the relationship between recrystallization and creep resistance in zirconium alloy E635, highlighting performance under irradiation conditions.
The influence of the recrystallization degree on the strength, plastic properties and resistance to creep during compression of pipes made of zirconium alloy E635 (Zr-Nb-Sn-Fe system) in the initial state (after annealing at different temperatures) and after neutron irradiation in the BOR-60 research reactor for eight micro-campaigns (fluence of fast neutrons ≈3∙1022 cm-2) has been studied. It is shown that the resistance of pipes to thermal and radiation-thermal creep, in contrast to the strength and plastic properties, depends on the recrystallization degree of the alloy.
