The migration from seamless database to the cloud requires workable strategies. This is because the migration process is cumbersome. This study presents such strategies, drawing evidence from extant literatures. The identified strategies include lift-and-shift, re-platforming and refactoring. Each of them offers huge prospects, depending on how and the extent to which organizations leverage them for the desired purposes in line with their needs and infrastructure. These strategies are facilitated by automated migration services, cloud-native database services, and data replication tools. To ensure a hitch-free transfer, best practices ought to be imbibed additional to the database migration strategies. These include Azure Database Migration Service, AWS Database Migration Service, and Google Cloud Database Migration Service, which provide vigorous solutions for database of all kinds and sizes. Obviously, the migration from seamless database to the cloud involves ensuing minimal downtime and data integrity while transferring applications, data, and associated services. Also, it is quite obvious that organizations direly need viable database migration strategies for careful planning and execution, enhanced performance, cost-effectiveness and scalability, and the harnessing of the full potentials of cloud technologies.
