Research demonstrates improved dielectric properties and mechanical strength in epoxy nanocomposites with Mg x Ni 1-x Fe 2 O 4 fillers, indicating enhanced performance potential.
The present research focuses on the fabrication and performance evaluation of epoxy‐based nanocomposites incorporating Mg x Ni 1‐x Fe 2 O 4 nanoparticles as functional reinforcements. These Mg x Ni 1‐x Fe 2 O 4 nanoparticles were synthesized through a co‐precipitation route and embedded into the epoxy matrix at loadings of 1 and 2 wt.%, via a solution casting process. Structural and morphological characterizations using PXRD, FESEM, and FTIR verified the nanometric scale of the fillers, their homogeneous dispersion within the matrix, and favorable interfacial interactions. Thermal behavior, as assessed through TGA and DTA, indicated enhanced thermal stability of the nanocomposite system. Additionally, dielectric measurements showed a rise in both dielectric constant and AC conductivity as a function of temperature and frequency. Mechanical analysis revealed significant gains in tensile and flexural strength upon nanoparticle inclusion. Overall, the results demonstrate that the engineered Mg x Ni 1‐x Fe 2 O 4 /epoxy nanocomposites exhibit multifunctional improvements, making them promising candidates for use in electronic packaging, energy storage, and high‐performance structural applications.
