Method measures aromatic hydrocarbons concentration in diesel fuel, indicating potential for fuel quality assessment.
The paper considers the possibility of determining the content of aromatic hydrocarbons in straight-run diesel fuel using the infrared spectroscopy method. Ortho-xylene is used as an aromatic additive. Based on the infrared spectra of the samples, a graph of the dependence of the concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons on the optical density is constructed. According to this schedule, it is possible to determine the quantitative content of aromatic carbohydrates in straight-run diesel fuel.
