Development of an mpfs with a 3rd harmonic and a cathode magnetic field improves electron beam stability.
The article presents the results of developing a MPFS with a significant value of the 3rd harmonic and a field at the cathode. The distribution of the longitudinal component of the magnetic field for stable focusing of the electron beam throughout the interaction region is found. It is shown that the use of a cathode field formed due to the reverse polarity of the first magnet ensures stable transportation of a tubular electron beam
