In patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a hypercontractile phenotype assessed by echocardiographic LV force is associated with unfavorable hemodynamics and an increased risk of long-term all-cause mortality.

Wierzbowska‐Drabik et al. (2025) conducted a cohort in Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (n=1,533). Left ventricular hypercontractile phenotype (force > 7.32 mmHg/mL) vs. Non-hypercontractile phenotype (force ≤ 7.32 mmHg/mL) was evaluated on All-cause death (HR 1.44, 95% CI 1.00-2.07). A left ventricular hypercontractile phenotype in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy was associated with an increased risk of all-cause death (HR 1.44; 95% CI 1.00-2.07).
