Proposed method calculates residual life in gas turbine engines, suggesting a hybrid system could enhance reliability.
A method for calculating the residual life of a gas turbine engine (GTE) and a model for monitoring the residual life of a GTE based on this method are proposed. It allows monitoring the residual life of a GTE during its operation, which helps to increase the reliability of predicting negative factors affecting the residual life of a GTE, as well as preventing the transition of emergency situation into a catastrophic one. Analysis of the conducted studies results allows us to draw a conclusion about the advisability of using hybrid automated software-hardware complex for monitoring the residual life of a GTE by using radial-basis networks and fuzzy logic theory.
