Assessment reveals enhanced accuracy through predictive models in inertial navigation systems, suggesting practical applications for error compensation.
The errors of an autonomous inertial navigation system installed on an aircraft are investigated. The accuracy of the navigation system is increased by an algorithmic method. Information from an additional sensor is used to form a model of the inertial navigation system errors. In the autonomous mode of the inertial navigation system operation, errors in the output signal of the system are compensated by using a predictive model of errors. Methods for constructing a predictive model of the inertial navigation system errors are proposed and recommendations for their use are given.
