Study demonstrates QTL mapping for upper canopy leaf length in foxtail millet, highlighting genetic diversity.
As a core crop in dryland agriculture in China, foxtail millet exhibits notable quantitative genetic characteristics across its agronomic traits. In this study, we utilized a recombinant inbred line (RIL) population derived from Yugu18 and Hongjiugu as our genetic material. We collected phenotypic data on the upper canopy leaf length from both parental lines and the RIL population, and performed QTL mapping in conjunction with a high-density SNP genetic map.The findings of this study provide a theoretical foundation for the breeding of improved foxtail millet varieties.
