Scientific knowledge is very important for every individual of today’s society. Its proper development however presupposes people’s response on their needs and experiences, which are reflected on their pursuit to acquire knowledge and skills related to sciences. It is essential therefore to study students’ motives to learn and especially to learn sciences which is the basic aim of the present study. The research approach used to detect the kind of motivation to learn sciences was based on the Velayutham et al. (2011) research too (questionnaire), which was adapted in the Greek language and was given to 82 students of the Pedagogical Departments of the University of Thessaly. The research results revealed a high correlation between the motivational factors for learning sciences.
