Survey reveals dissatisfaction with pandemic distance education among physical education teachers, indicating challenges faced.
This paper explores the views of Physical Education teachers (PET) working in the Primary and Secondary Education public schools of Evia since the implementation of synchronous, distance education that took place during most of the 2020-21 school year due to the pandemic school"s closing. The sample was 55 teachers (40% of those working in the 2021-22 school year in the island"s schools). A questionnaire with 6 multiple-choice questions for demographic data and 12 closed-ended questions on a five-point Likert scale was used. The main findings show that a large percentage of the teachers in the sample were not satisfied with the support of the Ministry of Education (78.1%) and the Education Coordinator (50.9%). Further combining the results with the research questions asked, it was observed that 65.5% of the PETs consider that the School Management solved problems of distance education, while 56.4% consider that the experience of distance modern distance education was negative.
