This research compares defrosting technologies for goat semen during in vitro fertilization, revealing effects on sperm viability and motility.
In recent years, assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in animal husbandry have become increasingly relevant, particularly the technology of obtaining embryos through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and their subsequent cryopreservation. This is due to the necessity of improving the genetic potential of livestock, increasing productivity, and preserving rare breeds. Assisted reproductive technologies include estrus synchronization and stimulation of estrus onset during the anestrous season, artificial insemination technology, semen freezing technology, embryo production methods in vivo and in vitro, vitrification, and transplantation of cryopreserved embryos. Semen preparation is a crucial step in protocols for obtaining embryos through the in vitro fertilization of oocytes. The article examines the comparison of thawing and processing methods for the semen of bucks frozen in uncoated pellets in the implementation of the technology for obtaining goat embryos in vitro. The results of the experiment showed that spermatozoa exhibit resistance to the cryopreservation method in uncoated pellets. It was found that the choice of thawing and processing method affects the viability and concentration of motile spermatozoa
