A condition characterized by the dilation, elongation, and tortuosity of a vein is referred to as varicose. Both the superficial perforating veins and the deep veins are affected by varicose veins. Contemporary treatments encompass ligation and surgical procedures involving ligation with stripping. However, these methods may lead to a recurrence of the condition. In contrast, Ayurveda focuses on addressing the underlying cause of the ailment. Ayurvedic methods for treating varicose veins include the application of Jalauka to the affected veins and the use of Oral Ayurvedic formulations to alleviate the condition. A clinical study was conducted on a41 year old female with complaint of pain, swelling in right lower limb from calf to dorsum of foot and had visible prominent, dilated, torturous veins. The intervention included application of Jalauka on right leg (5 sittings each weekly) and Oral medications. The parameters like Subjective and Objective parameters were assessed. This research demonstrated effectiveness in alleviating pain, reducing swelling, addressing tortuosity, and managing dilated veins. Therefore, the synergistic effects of the local application of Jalauka and Oral Ayurvedic formulations are reported to be effective in managing varicose veins without causing any adverse effects.
