Descriptive survey shows income stability positively affects job performance in selected DMBs in Nigeria, suggesting enhanced banking outcomes.
The primary objective was to evaluate the effect of income stability on job performance in selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. Descriptive survey research design was used as methodology, targeting senior and management staff, as well as casual and permanent employees, across selected top-tier DMBs in Lagos State, Nigeria. as units of analysis. From a population of 5,781 staff, a sample size of 374 was determined using Taro Yamane's formula, and 362 valid copies of questionnaires were returned, yielding a high response rate of 96.79%. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics and inferential statistics via Software Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22. Results revealed significant positive effects, Income Stability presented a strong positive correlation (r=0.730, p<0.001), accounting for 53.3% of the variance (R2=0.533). The study concluded that, despite concerns about casualization, strategically income stability critically enhances deposit money banks (DMB) job performance in Nigeria.
