Analysis of X-ray outbursts reveals insights on mass accretion and magnetic field in a neutron star, suggesting important characteristics of accretion processes.
The X-ray outbursts of the Be/X-ray binary IGR J06074+2205 that occurred in October and December 2023 have been recently analyzed. The characteristics of the neutron star within the binary system were examined through NICER and NuSTAR observations conducted during these X-ray outbursts. The cyclotron resonance scattering feature (CRSF) centroid and the X-ray luminosity ([Formula: see text]) have been determined for this accreting neutron star reasonably accurately. Based on these observations, the mass accretion rate, surface magnetic field, surface temperature, Alfvén radius and the critical luminosity for the accretion-powered X-ray pulsar have been estimated.
