Case report demonstrates 18F-fluorocholine PET/CT's role in tracking metastatic parathyroid carcinoma, suggesting effective monitoring.
Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare disease, with a frequency of 0.005% of all malignancies. Approximately 30% of patients will develop metastases at some point in the disease. Nonsecreting PC represents <10% of all PC and is harder to diagnose. Here, we report the case of a patient suffering from metastatic nonsecreting PC who has been (and still is) monitored for 4.5 years with 18 F-fluorocholine PET/CT.
