Research demonstrates effective adsorption of Pb2+ and Cu2+ in aqueous solutions using PKS-based activated carbon, indicating its potential for water treatment.
The objective of this paper is to evaluate the characterization of Activated Carbon from Palm Kernel Shell (PKS) and apply same for the Adsorption of Pb2+and Cu2+ from Aqueous Solution using appropriate standard procedures. Data obtained show that the optimal removal efficiencies were recorded at 93.43% for Pb²+ and 72.53% for Cu²+ under the reaction conditions. The findings demonstrate that PKS-based activated carbon is a viable and effective adsorbent for treating aqueous solutions contaminated with Pb²+ and Cu²+.
